Tl;dr – What hinderances have you come across that you had never considered when designing? So it’s been almost two weeks since I’ve done anything meaningful for my games. What makes it stranger is that we are in a Covid lockdown and I haven’t left the house except to walk around the block 4 times. So I thought with all this extra time I would be able to get stuff done! But I’m a school teacher and we are doing online learning which means sitting at a desk staring at a screen for extended periods of time. This is not something I am used and by the end of the day I don’t want to even sit let alone look at a screen. So I haven’t been doing any work at all in game design. Even getting on BGDL to see what exciting things people are doing is more screen time I don’t like. This snowballs into a socialising issue as well because to play TTS or BGA means even more time in front of a screen. 4 weeks into lockdown with no end in sight, it’s getting a real drag. Hope you all are staying safe and healthy.
Thanks for sharing Tim! I feel you on not feeling productive with your game, I am in the same boat. Not sure how your brain works, but I benefit from group discussion and talking out problems. Maybe we can exchange our time with each other and be sound boards to see if some good old fashioned brainstorming can help us push through some difficulties. Let me know if you’re interested!
