So here in the States we have some different grocery and food delivery services and my wife is doing both kinds and I’ve joined her on a few occasions.
I thought it would be interesting to have a pickup and delivery type game where players have options to deliver food, grocery shop and deliver and/or deliver passengers to their destination.
For passengers, they would be picked up from all different spots. Food delivery can only be picked up at certain times/events at hubs. Grocery shopping and delivery would take a little more time but worth more points/money.
Inspirations are an old school arcade game Crazy Taxi, Overcooked videogame, Uber/Lyft, Grub Hub/ Door Dash and Instacart.
I’ve yet to play a pickup and deliver game, but I think I understand the basics of it, lol. Maybe throw in some worker placement mechanics too.
Does anything like this exist? What are your thoughts?

Additional thoughts I meant to add,
Each character does all 3 types
Gas, moneyFaster vehicles, different vehiclesCustomer satisfactionNavigate streets, city, neighborhoods
Player tableu is a behind the driver’s wheel, and little compartments to hold orders and passengers and groceries
Bid on orders, like Nidavellir or can only take the same order type twice in a row, not 3Sponsored events

Good be a fun tableau builder! Start with a bike and food delivery only, upgrading / improving throughout the game to increase speed, capacity and types of delivery.

So much potential in this idea and so many different ways to envision it.

Would each player have a “phone” player mat with their stats and apps (upgrades) for the different services?

Double sided tiles/large cards to randomize a small city would be a cool idea; with different neighborhoods offering different services and rewards; maybe with a bonus for distance traveled.

An idea like this though can be played strictly with cards too!

Could also take it in a Tycoon direction. Rags to riches type experience, and seeing your food/people delivery empire grow from humble beginnings.
The gameplay itself could be rooted in the actual delivery of items/people, but over time, you might recruit more drivers, establish hubs, franchise, etc.
A mechanic that might suit this game well would be Roll and Write. But maybe rolling does not determine movement – maybe it determines how many orders come in during the hour. So if you roll a d6 and get a 4, you’ve got 4 orders you need to complete in one hour. More income potential, but less time per order. Which, coming from delivery jobs, is accurate… sometimes orders fly in, sometimes dead. The writing part might be drawing a planned route to complete the orders as efficiently as possible, and determining how many drivers you’ll send out.
And then you could be able to modify order rolls in your favor by improving marketing of your business, etc. Neat idea to noodle on! 🙂
