I’m having trouble figuring out an icon and could use your help.
I need an icon that says “move your token anywhere that is adjacent to another one of your tokens”.
The action happens on a hex map.
This will not go on a card but a spot on the player board.
Thanks

I’m not a huge fan of this one, because it seems like the second tile would be invalid, since there is no token going to it, but only one that passes it) and that can confuse players.
I doodled up this: (https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1qkoBjyWYYkB_GLpSNyLiYdqTuBvcpBKAyzoLswc8CTU/edit?usp=sharing)
– You are dropping a token, so a downward arrow makes sense to me
– Multiple arrows are more confusing instead of making it clear, but that is just my opinion
– dotted areas are easy to help visualize the transition of status (tile without token -> tile with token)
-
This one says to me ‘place a token next to one already there’ not ‘move a token to next another one’
-
that’s what I was going to say…but I really like the dotted line idea

Hmm.. now that I re-evaluate my icon, I have to agree..

The previous one doesn’t quite work. As others rightfully mentioned: that would work if you’d add a token from outside, inside of moved it. Lemme try again (same link):
– Keep the dotted area to indicate transition
– differentiate tiles that are adjacent and other tiles by being either connected or not
– IMO it is still better to show one scenario (one arrow)
