    Philosophy

We often compare today with days past, to determine if today will be good or bad.

Instead, let’s treat each day as a unique moment in time and live it to it’s fullest, whatever it may bring.

Then we can choose to this day, to do what truly matters to us. And appreciate whatever happens throughout the day.

Wouldn’t that make Every Day a Good Day?

    Goal

Every Day is a Good Day ( 日々是好日) that explores what it’s like to live a life filled with Contentment.

Each day, you start with inspiration from your dreams to relax; socialise; create, and from here you purposefully work towards developing Friendships and Skills to better reflect the Intentions in your life.

With each moment, building Contentment, so that you can say that Every Day is a Good Day!

    Experience

I’d like players to experience a Zen like experience, where they can enjoy their time to relax with friends, build up combos and see where their life leads them!

    Mechanics:

Tableau Building. Start from humble beginnings and work towards purposefully developing the Friendships and Skills that will provide permanent abilities that you can use throughout each Day.

Time. Everyone has the same 8 hours in a Day, so use your time wisely to live the most fulfilled life

    Play Time:

    15 minutes / player

    Players:

    2-4

    Game Files:

Rule Book + Print & Play Files

    TTS Link

    Rambling 😛

It’s my first game ever, and it’s been really great to see it come together as a game that aligns with my philosophy and is hopefully somewhat fun 😛

I’m currently at play test 16 and version 9 of the game, and if you’d like to try it out, feel free to PnP, or play on TTS and let me know how you go!

    Where Next!

    Next steps I’m moving towards:

    – Blind play-testing, TTS helps a lot!

    – Create a Sell Sheet, as might as well give it a shot 😛

    – Start my next Game Design, as there’s always new ideas!

Looking forward to meeting all of you and seeing all of your creations

Got a chance to pitch my game to Ravensburger! Didn’t get to the next round but it was lotsa fun as they were so helpful and open

So got my update to version 16 now available on Steam with a real rule book that is actually complete!

Did a major overhaul of pretty much the whole game, so it’s much smoother, but maybe less thematic. So all a balancing act 😛

Updated rule book below and new Workshop up at

In case you’re curious for the Ravensburger feedback:

Pitched my game and they were interested in the theme, but thought there might be a bit too much game to get the correct feel of contentedness across, so all up a pass from them.

I had a similar view point in part, so made sense but was great to hear from someone in the industry too! It’s so cool that they can kinda get the gist of the game with a simple pitch, but really glad I did it.

Few tips they gave me were:

    – that gateway+ is a much harder sell for the core market that Ravensburger sells to.

    – GenCon is coming up and may be some pitch opportunities

    – Pegasus Designer coming up for other pitch opportunities too

    – When play testing always enquire about the replay value, if 3/4 of your testers would like to play the game again then it’s a pretty good fit for Ravensburger

    Also enjoyed the quote

“We know not what we want, but when we see it we know it.”

First pitch ever done, so super relieved and now to wait for that adrenaline to die down
