It’s my 1st time presenting a game here, but let’s go! That’s Brigadeiro, a family party game for 2-5 players inspired by Brazilian birthday parties and candies. The main mechanic are a simultaneous multiversion of the Prisoner’s Dilemma, with some push-your-luck and set collection for getting points.

The players are children in a Brazilian birthday party – here we have the habit to try to steal candies before we eat the cake, so that’s the goal! In each round, the players choose a numbered place in the table using their Player Cards. If they are the only ones to go for there (and the aunt meeple it’s not there), they get candies!

The idea for the game came from the will to create a game inspired by my country’s culture without getting in the carnaval/Amazon themes. Brigadeiros (and the other candies presented on the game) are a key food for us and I have a lot of memories helping my mom making them for my own birthday parties back then. ❤

The first playtests were awesome, the duration in 10min avg, a really simple, fast and light game. I’m personally proud for the use of the candy cards’ back to indicate the table’s numbered positions, hehe. What do you think of the game? I’ll try to make some international playtests soon!

I really like that you are incorporating a cultural tradition as well as a favorite family/childhood memory! I have a few of those types of game ideas as well. I think it sounds like a lot of fun!

Where are you in the process? Have you subscribed to Jamey Stegmaires process? Im most interested in the teach to play ratio, and if you think there is replayability in the cards.
